The Triad
The Triad surfaced seven years ago, as an extremist military group seeking to completely overthrow the government structure of Lylat and replace it with their own, totalitarian one. The organization is separated into three branches, each with a different leader and specialty.
The Triad first surfaced before the Lylat Wars, and was seen as little more than a nuisance to the government. However, when they were able to gain the favor of Andross and were given his older and retired technology, they improved upon it and soon formed a sizable army, gaining more attention as the launched sneak attacks on Cornerian platoons scattered about Lylat.
As Andross directed his attention away from them, they decided to find a new benefactor, and approached Don Marcello Valentia. However, Marcello turned them away without hesitation, citing their dependence on attention and mass hysteria being major turn-offs. Cal Ostin, the Aquas Branch leader, would not accept this blow to his ego, and convinced the other two leaders to join him in an attack on the Valentia group. In the confrontation, Marcello and his right-hand man, Ulric O’Donnell, were both killed, but not without taking two of the Triad leaders with them, detonating the entire base. Marcello’s daughter Camilla and Ulric’s son Wolf were able to escape.
Cal went into hiding during the Lylat Wars, taking his time to rebuild the group. Now they’re back, and are seeking Bowman’s aid in gaining control.

Gene Kipner
Fortuna branch, guerrilla tactics
Leader of the Fortuna branch; a three-toed sloth. Once an experienced sniper for the Cornerian military, he went AWOL seven years ago and resurfaced as one of the three Triad leaders. The long, sleepless nights he spent during the Lylat Wars took a toll on him, and now he's finally catching up on his sleep--more than he probably should. That being said, Gene is still an expert sniper and a master at traps, and it's nearly impossible to tell whether he's sleeping...or lying in wait.
Gene is favored by his soldiers due to his easygoing, approachable personality. His motivation for joining the Triad is unknown, though part of it seems to be that he can sleep without repercussion. When he's gotten proper rest, he is a capable leader and always open to suggestions.

Tallulah Forrester
Titania Branch, Publicity and Financial Crime
A spotted skunk. Once classmates and friends with Camilla Valentia and Wolf O’Donnell, Tallulah has made a name for herself in the entertainment world, known simply as Tallie. In school, Tallulah would often look to Camilla for advice, as she was one of the few people who didn’t mock her about her weight, and was eventually advised to work with what she had. This worked—Tallulah became an icon, her voice being her selling point, and she also began managing other small-time artists to give them a chance like she had. When she began fading from the spotlight, the Triad approached her, giving her the opportunity to remain a big name and support their cause—Tallulah’s family had been victimized by corrupt government officials in the past, and Tallulah had a growing resentment for politics. As of one year ago, Tallulah became the leader of the Triad’s Titania branch. Camilla has found out—and is none too pleased. Tallulah is a bubbly, excitable person with a flair for various costumes and wigs. Unlike the other Triad leaders, she doesn’t really like killing anyone, and will usually have her soldiers do it so she doesn’t have to see. Her specialty is in finances.
Calvin "Cal" Ostin
Aquas Branch, Fear-mongering and terrorism
The third Triad leader, an osprey. He heads the branch hidden within the waters of Aquas, and is considered the big leader. He has been running his branch of the Triad the longest, and firmly believes in their message. Though he is seen as a friendly person, with a passion for the outdoors and giving to charity, those who cross him get to see the true sociopath hidden within. He gets a kick out of torture and interrogation, and has a reputation in the world of underground arms dealings. He was the one who ordered the deaths of Don Marcello and Ulric O’Donnell, and he wants Wolf and Camilla dead too—they were supposed to be killed that day as well. His favorite methods of torture are crushing fingers and drowning.
